Trucks & Traditions

Every year, Ford partners with universities across the Southeast to celebrate the great tradition of college football and the Best-Selling Truck in America. Our team spent two weeks traveling to five location, and worked with the head coaches Kirby Smart and Gus Malzahn to bring these thirty-second broadcast spots to life. This year, we partnered with the University of Georgia, University of Alabama, Auburn University, and the University of Tennessee. We captured an incredible amount of footage shooting in the stadiums, fields, and (empty) locker rooms of each team, and of course eating copious amounts of BBQ after we wrapped each evening.

Digital assets ran in conjunction with the broadcast spots. We were able to feature head coaches from two of the universities, and highlighted the F-150 for the schools that did not have coach involvement. The challenge with these smaller digital executions, is including all the mandatory elements while maintaining visual hierarchy & legibility.

A kit of point-of-purchase print assets were sent out to Ford Dealers prior to campaign launch, including tags to be hung from the rearview mirror of trucks on the dealership floor.

I had the opportunity to design the fake license plates used on the picture vehicles for this shoot. I love illustration, so this was an exciting side project. The designs are based on the three represented state’s real license plates. My family’s initials and birthdays are all represented.
